Dee Dee and his Bel Airs

Dee Dee and his Bel Airs started from zero to one hundred in 1988 as a neo rock-a-billy band!

Their first LP “Rock-a-billy boogie tonight” was a hit and they played up and down all the popular festivals in Europe and England. After a while, the vocal group “Harmony Five” joined the band and the program leaned more towards to Doo Wop and Jive and thus the popularity became even greater!

In the mid-nineties, the boys around Dee Dee wanted to explore new horizons and experimented with influences from the young “Neo Swing movement”. Their third album “Night Out in Bel Air” hit like a bomb... Titles like “Scat the swing”, “California moon” and their version of the all-time classic “Viva Las Vegas” stormed the MP3-charts and download-lists worldwide!

Now Dee Dee is back on stage and this time he has an eye on the jump blues of the late forties and early fifties.

The energy and enthusiasm these gentlemen bring to the stage makes some young bands look OLD. Dee Dee sets the stage on fire and the dancers' soles are smoking on the dance floor... How beautiful life can be!

Ihre erste LP „Rock-a-billy boogie tonight“ wurde ein Hit und sie spielten auf allen angesagten Festivals in Europa und England rauf und runter. Nach einiger Zeit kam die Gesangsgruppe „Harmony Five“ dazu und das Programm ging mehr in Richtung Doo Wop und Jive und somit wurde der Bekanntheitsgrad noch größer!

Mitte der Neunziger Jahre wollten die Jungs um Dee Dee neue Ufer erkunden und experimentierten mit Einflüssen der jungen „Neo Swing- Bewegung“. Ihr drittes Album „Night Out in Bel Air“ schlug ein wie eine Bombe... Titel wie „Scat the swing“, „California moon“ und Ihre Version des all time Klassikers „Viva Las Vegas“ stürmten die MP3-Charts und Download-Listen weltweit!

Nun ist Dee Dee wieder back on stage und hat sich dieses mal dem Jump Blues der späten 40er und frühen 50er angenommen.

Was diese Herren an Energie und Spielfreude auf die Bühne legen, lässt manche junge Band ALT aussehen. Dee Dee zündet die Bühne an und unten auf der Tanzfläche qualmen die Sohlen der Tänzer.... Wie schön kann das Leben doch sein!

Bun-Jon & The Big Jive

Starting in 2011 with the idea to create a band to serve the needs of Lindy and Boogie dancers ‎“Bun-Jon & The Big Jive“ developed very fast to a well known Swing’n Jive band. Coming from Hamburg they play now on various events all over Europe. Tunes from their last album "Swing Dance Party" are played on dance parties all over the world. 

Their performance and fresh sound thrills listeners and dancers immediately. Songs from Louis Jordan, Nat King Cole, Ray Charles to even Ray Collins belong to the repertoire. They have the golden rule that if it has Swing, Groove, Drive and Jive – they’ll play it and Bun-Jon, as a swing dancer himself, knows how to send the beat straight to your feet.

Wer glaubt Swing und Jive findet man nur noch auf Opas alten Vinylplatten, hat sich schwer geirrt, denn Swing feiert weltweit ein schwungvolles Comeback. Seit 2011 sind sie mit von der Partie: "Bun-Jon & The Big Jive" aus Hamburg spielen auf Festivals und Bühnen jeder Größenordnung, und das in ganz Europa. Wo diese Jungs auftreten sind Tanzflächen und Hallen genauso voll, wie die Sounds, die sie im Programm haben. Mit ihrem Repertoire aus Swing, Jump & Jive und der erfrischenden Mischung aus modernen Titeln, eigenen Kompositionen und Klassikern von u.a. Louis Jordan, Nat King Cole und Ray Charles schaffen sie es auch noch den letzten müden Fuß zum Tippeln zu bringen. Glaubt Ihr nicht?
